Campaign 2010 A Huge Success!

One of our most successful parts of our year-round financial development program is our annual YMCA Current Support Campaign. Each year, for the past 95 years, Y-volunteers have come together to help raise funds to support the YMCA's important work with youth, particularly underprivileged boys and girls, and their families.

Thanks to all of you who recently participated in our 2010 campaign. By all indicators it is one of our most successful efforts to date. We had a remarkable group of some 346 volunteers involved in the campaign this year. Our volunteer workforce told their YMCA story to fellow members, friends and neighbors and secured 2,460 gifts, which is 1,210 gifts more than we were securing in the entire campaign just ten years ago. Add all of this up and it translates into fund raising of $339,596 to date, which is 101% of our goal and a wonderful accomplishment in a difficult economy.

Our Campaign General Chair, Bob Stambaugh, did an absolutely outstanding job leading the charge along with Chairman's Round Table Chair Chris Hardeman, whose committee raised $156,780; and Teams Section Chair Bob Grove, whose ten divisions raised $182,726. In addition, all sections of the campaign not only went over their goal, but also increased by 4% over last year. Congratulations and thanks to everyone for a job well done!
