YOUTH SPORTS

Sportsmanship: Conduct considered fitting for a sportsperson, including observance of the rules of fair play, graciousness in losing, and respect for others.

At the YMCA of Greater Whittier we are committed to bringing together children and teens with shared athletic interests, while promoting our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.  We aim to nurture the potential in all youths, regardless of age or background, and enable them to recognize the importance of sportsmanship, become more active, and work to achieve a common goal.  We firmly believe that sports is a great way of allowing youths to one day become involved members of their families, schools, community and society.  As the great thinkers once said – grow, learn, have fun, play hard, and play fair!
